Re: What are your expectations for the transfer window and next season?
this on Eberechi Eze

Palace is hoping to get the transferred business for Eze done early and that could go against West Ham who need to sell to buy.

A Hammers bid for Eze could rely on an early sale of Manuel Lanzini and/or Felipe Anderson but that is easier said than done.

Just about sums up our clown act of board really

Re: What are your expectations for the transfer window and next season?
Carter's - Mourinho called Diop a "Monster" when we beat them at the OS almost 2 years ago, near the start of Diop's time with us. He also congratulated whoever had scouted him. Diop was indeed immense in that game. But it's hard to deny that if anything, he has gone backwards since then. He certainly doesn't seem to have progressed. He often appears hesitant and indecisive, and is nowhere near as dominant in the air as he should be, given his size. With the apparent decline of Balbuena, I wonder if what Diop needs is a bit of serious competition for his place, which I don't think he has at the moment. I don't really mind if we keep him but would be happier if we could get a good price for him and get get a more proactive replacement.

Left Back Priority for me.
If anyone thinks Masuaku or Cresswell are PL players then you know SFA about the game.
Everyone slates Diop.
Is this the same player Mourinho called Immense last year?
Now I don't like Mourinho but, his football knowledge is greater than mine.
I ask you, would you be happy when every cross comes in, you are looking for your right back?
Get a decent right back and he will be better.
Johnson is ok for me there.
Get rid of Wishere priority 100k to bench warm?
Otherwise I will go with everyone else regarding Haller Anderson Lanzini,Yamolenko.
I think Haller would be ok but he is just a moody French prick Martial Mark 2.
I would sooner see the kids be brought on than pay massive wages for guys who don't want to be here.
It will take 18 months to get rid of the Pellegrini effect .

Make some sensible signings in the positions we need and get players In who are hungry to play at West Ham and in the premier league. We aren’t champions league material and we shouldn’t be gambling the house on overpaid luxury players who aren’t up for a fight and want out once they realize Sullivan’s spiel about creating a top 4 side is A load of bollocks.

I don’t think we’ll be in relegation trouble next season, we are too good for that, but I also don’t expect us to go much above lower mid table.

Re: What are your expectations for the transfer window and next season?
I am ever the optimist but I can completely understand the pessimism on here after the season we've had. But there are definitely some positive signs - our recent form has been a big improvement and our last two transfers in have been superb, indicative of a much more sensible transfer policy.

So I expect us to be a mid-table team next season. That could be upper or lower mid-table, depending mainly on the success of otherwise of our transfer business this summer. Our buying power depends mainly on being able to sell, and we have an awful lot of dead wood to shift. There seems to be plenty of interest in Ajeti (God knows why) and I think there will be takers for Anderson. Apart from that, we'll do well to shift half of Wilshire, Masuaku, Lanzini, Balbuena, Haller, Yarmolenko and any of the younger fringe players.

Inbound, the priority has to be fullbacks, particularly the left, where Cresswell is looking increasingly dodgy. On the right I wouldn't be surprised if they just leave it as a straight fight between Fredericks and Johnson. Diangana will be a good addition and I hope we get in either See or Benrhami as a no.10. I have no idea what we should do about the striker situation, so that's going to be interesting. We must hold onto Rice, and I think we will.

Have we signed Fellaini yet?

Him and Soucek as up and at 'em bash 'em "aerial threats" could be a new dawn...

In seriousness, my expectations are low. Mid table at best. We still need better FBs and goals. Impressive though Bowen has been work-wise, he's not scoring. Lucking out on Antonio doesn't strike me as much of "a plan"....

Re: What are your expectations for the transfer window and next season?
The Rice money, make no mistake he is as good as gone, say its £45m, I think the days of £90m fees are long gone, then they will let Moyes have £20m of it plus any other sales so maybe £30M to spend. QPR unrealistically price Eze at £20M, again those days are gone, maybe £10-12m plus a £5m full back and a loanee and that's it. So more of the same next season flirting with relegation and trusting there are 3 or 4 teams worse than us. It's good to be alive as a West Ham fan

Re: What are your expectations for the transfer window and next season?
My hope is that our transfer policy takes steps to become more sensible and rounded squad wise, as opposed to another marquee type waste of money on a centre forward.

suspect that would involve David Sullivan butting out though, so maybe it's a big mistake we can make again in 12 months or so.

Re: What are your expectations for the transfer window and next season?
There'll be plenty of interest in Anderson

A motivated Anderson is an asset to any team but its pretty obvious he doesn't want to be here. Unlikely we'll get our money back but can can at least see him heading out on a season loan to Spain or Italy

Can't see the same level of interest in Haller unless it's another loan arrangement which would seem a but pointless after just one year. Think they'll give him another season here.

Re: What are your expectations for the transfer window and next season?
Yes I agree with White Pony. I'd like the defence improved and a better CF too although Antonio looks great there.

I'm sick of seeing our defensive clearances invariably going straight to the opposition or into touch. Obviously that needs to happen sometimes but not most of the game FFS!

Diop has the makings but misses so many headers he should get and seems to not know who to mark. In fact they all seem to have difficulty man marking at set pieces. Perhaps Moyes needs some coaching time with them?

Fredericks has amazing pace but struggles with defensive positioning while Cresswell is a really good footballer going forward but struggles with defending too. Ben Johnson looks very promising.

Haller is a typically mardy Frog (lazy and all too much trouble to work hard - a national trait) that played in Germany so I hope that a continental wannabee club remember his record and we get what we can for him.

Antonio is great up front but I suspect a really good young CF on loan that can come in for injuries or if Antonio gets to play out wide will improve our options.

So, overall I'm really more hopeful than I've been for quite a while. I think Moyes is drinking in the last chance saloon. If he fails at WH there will be no more chances at top level. For that reason I reckon he'll work very hard at earning an extended contract and rather Moyes than Allardyce, Avram Grant, Dozy Pellers or Glen The Roedent.

Re: What are your expectations for the transfer window and next season?
Moyes made it clear yesterday he is not expecting much.1 maybe 2 in and out at best.

As I pasted in 2 similar threads and what we already know. Sullivan family like the Cearns are 90% of the problem.

Totally unprofessional incompetents who run the club as a hobby. Recruitment and youth development are how you largely achieve real change.

Sullivan’s dictate most of that thru their relationships. Will Salthouse now replaced Barry Silkman and Mackay and son as the agent for getting players. Sullivan sons best mate now. This is where any players will come from. Amateurs and Sullivan sons following daddy’s model for running a football club where they drive recruitment

Re: What are your expectations for the transfer window and next season?
Realistically
1) GSB continue to welch on the London Stadium promises. (Yes I was in favour, Yes I believed them, Yes I was wrong)
2) The budget will be non existent. (for profit, not growth)

Possibly
3) Moyes will shore us up to mid table hard to beats, sell some show ponies that struggle in the current set up. Might get a few quid for some lower league bargains or an 'Ings' style trier, languishing in a TopTier squad somewhere. We respect the endeavour and effort and have the odd good day at a top 6 club
